Our Focus
We focus on building strong relationships with our management partners and on investing with them in businesses with attractive characteristics. We seek out companies with strong growth prospects, predictable cash flows, and defensible competitive positions.
We invest in a variety of situations including:
- private family owned companies; particularly when succession is necessary and the entrepreneur desires to continue contributing as part of the management team.
- “Management investment partnerships” or “MIPs” transactions. MIPs are partnerships whereby we can meld the industry, operating and strategic skills of our partner managers and the sourcing and financing skills of Centre. Together, we focus on a sector where the economics, competition, demographics and other factors, not the least of which is availability of- and relatively favorable pricing for acquisition, weigh in favor of an investment. We are currently investing behind experienced and proven management teams in the specific areas of
:
- renal disease
- fixed base operations (fbo’s) for general aviation
- liquid waste collection and treatment
- midstream segment of the energy industry
- buyouts of divisions or subsidiaries of larger private or public companies; where corporate resources may not have been available or where management may not have had appropriate and aligned equity incentives.
- going private transactions where being private allows the management team greater focus on building the value of their business for the long term.
- growth companies where expansion capital is critical.
We target investing $15 million to $85 million in portfolio companies. Combined with the resources of our limited partners and others, we have provided up to $200 million for a single investment. In our MIPs, we often begin by investing a smaller amount, but generally reach a final investment amount of over $50 million.
